"This is the debut of an estate grown chardonnay (with 7% melon) from Stoss Lee, a new low intervention winery on Gilead Road in Prince Edward County. It was aged in neutral oak for 10 months. It is a lovely, refined and quite elegant chardonnay - classic PEC lines with fine acidity and minerality. The nose shows well integrated apple, lees, lemon and light spice. The balance is excellent. The length very good to excellent. I look forward to watching this embryonic winery develop. Tasted February 2024. 91 points"

"This is the first fruit off of Stoss Lee's new vineyard on Gilead Road in Prince Edward County, planted in 2020. There's plenty of promise on the nose even if flinty-leesy character dominates in this bottling, alongside some bruised green apple - the philosophy is minimal intervention from vines to bottle. The palate shows hallmark county limestone on a properly tight, tart, lean frame, also with some phenolic grit, and with almost impossible flavour weight and depth at just 12.1% alcohol declared. A quasi-imperceptible lick of acetic acids lifts the back end. Really impressive first effort all in all, which, with increasing vine age and a little tightening of the winemaking screws, will surely yield exceptional results moving forward. Tasted February 2024. 90 points"
